My Project
My 6th-8th grade middle school students are very hardworking and enjoy doing independent work on our class Chromebooks. We use them every day. Our middle schoolers were very fortunate this year to receive brand new devices to use in class.
We are in dire need of headphones and computer mice for our devices.
I teach Social Studies. My Social Studies curriculum does require students to be able to use the devices to do lessons online, assessments, and quizzes. We also use the devices to do independent research from time to time as well as other technology programs that my school uses. For the Social Studies curriculum a lot of the background information for the lessons are read to the students from the website. My students would benefit greatly and could concentrate better if they were wearing headphones during those lessons. Also, a lot of my students are having problems finishing assignments faster and clicking on answers and information because they do not have a computer mouse to use. The "mouse pads" on the Chromebooks can sometimes be difficult to use especially when trying to scroll down/up on the screen.
