Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are creating a service project to teach their peers and others in the community the benefits of getting an education. One of the current issues that is preventing students from being able to focus in class is that they do not have their school device charged and ready when they arrive to school. Because many of my students have challenging home lives and experience inequities, they focus more on survival than forcing themselves to excel in school. They need to see how much they can accomplish when they are prepared, so they can teach others in the community why an education is so important.
As a part of this project, we are going to create a school technology care and charging station.
This project is requesting items for a setting up a supportive area to meet the needs of students that are not able to get their personal devices ready for school each morning. We believe that this would help eliminate one of the obstacles in the community that is getting in the way of students obtaining an education.
The chargers, technology cleaning supplies, and chair bands requested will help our students learn how to be responsible with their devices. All students should have the opportunity to get the education they need to succeed.
