My students come from a variety of incomes and homes. I teach 5th grade at a Title 1 school with 40% on free and reduced lunch. My students absolutely need Chromebooks like these in the classroom. My students will love these Chromebooks and the tools they offer and will use them all the time for multiple subjects. We currently lack access to quality technology like this for our students to use and I feel these will help them find success!
My Project
This project will enable my students to use technology for typing, internet learning games, research, presentations and Google Classroom. I want to have a technology rich classroom. I want all my students to have technology in their hands throughout the school day. They will be able to learn how to use technology correctly and safely. They will learn how to access information quickly and develop the digital skills they need to further their education. In our technologically advanced world I believe it is imperative for our students to be exposed to higher technologies to prepare them for innovative and and necessary careers in these important fields. I know using Chromebooks will motivate my students to learn. They will complete awesome projects using Google Classroom. It will be fun to express what they have learned by creating Google Slideshows and typing stories in Google Docs. Thses activities will also prepare them for their future education and jobs as well. I am asking for seven Chromebooks and hopefully throughout the school year I can build up a classroom set. It is so much easier when every student has their own laptop as they will each have the same opportunities and access to success in school. I am excited to get technology into my classroom and I know my future students will love it also!
