This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As we move into a technologically rich world, it is imperative that our students aren't left behind. All of the new technology tools should be available to all students regardless of their economic standing. These students are our future and we need to get them there.
My students come from the largest school district in the state of Connecticut.
We are also the largest school in our district. Most of my students live below the poverty line and in environments that are not conducive to learning. Even with numerous issues going on around them, they make it to school every day and have an insatiable love of learning. Still, many of these students are well below the designated reading level for their current grade.
My Project
We have very few working computers in our classrooms. Notebook computers hold a vast amount of applications and accessibility that my students need to progress into the future of education. With access to a computer in the classroom, students will be able to create projects and complete assignments. Students will need to be better acquainted with technology after finishing school to succeed in the workforce. What better way than to teach them how to access and use technology that is currently out there?
Captivation and motivation are two important factors in educating our children today.
We live in a society where instant gratification and the use of technology are dominant. Please help me to keep my students up to par or better than the others. Together we can give them the edge they need to be competitive in a technologically driven market. Not only that, but we will also be able to give them the tools needed to enrich their own education.
