My Students

Our school is one that has a huge range of abilities.

Twenty percent of the students in each classroom have identified special needs.

This is a full inclusion school, meaning that all learners are in one classroom all day. Our model forces its teachers to teach to all learners using a wide variety of tools to reach all students.

In our school setting, we have a huge range of needs that we are constantly looking for any way we can help differentiate curriculum for all students within the same classroom. Any support you can provide for our classroom would be greatly appreciated!

My Project

Flexible seating has truly transformed our classroom. Now that it has, it's time to update our classroom in a technological way. Our students are currently using old computers that are finicky and the students spend most of their work time trying to operate them. They also have to run to the office to pick up their work, which takes away from class time. So, we need your help! We want half a class worth of Chromebooks and a safe place to store our technology (the laptop cart) in order to maximize our learning time. In addition, we need ink for our classroom printer so that students can maximize the resources we have in the room. Ink will allow us to spend more time in the class instead of always running to the office printer.

With a group of diverse learners with different needs, successes, and challenges, it can be difficult to have students using technology simultaneously.

With a group of Chromebooks, students of all abilities will be able to access various apps and programs and use these programs at the same time. We use technology every day, multiple times a day. Students who struggle with the physical act of writing are much more successful in using predictive keyboard software and having the option to type. In addition, these computers will also allow our students to visit their math and language arts book through ebooks. There are also many enrichment apps that are available to use on Chromebooks that will take students to new heights. Ultimately, having these tools will provide more independence and learning throughout our day.
