My Students
I teach in a K-8 building in a low-income area in Downriver, Michigan. My students are the 8th graders in the building and the oldest as they are with me their last year at Quest. My students enjoy working in small groups, on multi-leveled projects & using technology in learning. I have a very diverse group of students with a desire to learn from one another but also within their own strengths. In my classroom, we use morally focused lessons to achieve various goals within our curriculum and as adolescents.
My Project
Currently my classroom only has 10 chrome books, while I have an average of 25 students each period. My students take turns using the chrome books during workshop so they can complete assignments on Google classroom. We just began using Google classroom this year & the student response has received high praise! However, it is difficult to allow all of my students to benefit when I am limited with only 10 chromebooks in my classroom. We have also recently begun prepping for our state assessment by writing text-dependent analysis essays. The students will have to type an essay during this assessment therefore it is important they get enough practice in doing so before the assessment draws near!
