My Project
I am a Second grade teacher at a wonderful Title I school in a Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City. Ninety-six percent of our students are eligible for free lunch and are from low income families, but this does not dampen the spirits of these motivated students. I have worked very hard to make our classroom a bright and happy environment, despite the struggles many of them face every day. My students are inquisitive, curious, creative and compassionate. They inspire me to be a better teacher every day.
I feel blessed to teach my students and be part of their educational journey.
In second grade and across all grades in my school we teach an SEL curriculum to help students express their emotions and feelings especially after going through these past few years of pandemic and uncertainty.
My Project
This holiday season, I would love to surprise my amazing students with stockings filled with some Christmas themed goodies, pencils, and small toys. I am sure they will enjoy their presents during this season and they can show off their stocking stuffer during Show and Tell.
My kiddos have been working very hard and they deserve a Christmas present!
My students need a lot of encouragement every day. I do a lot of Social Emotional Learning prior to the start of lessons on a daily basis. These presents will warm their hearts and bring a smile to their faces and their families. My students are amazing and smart and they are like family to me and deserve a present this Christmas . I really appreciate your support in funding these gifts.
