Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to school. Their enthusiasm for learning makes teaching them a blast! Our school is located in one of the poorest areas in our city and many of my students live in poverty.
My students are young and eager to learn.
They like to sing, dance, and play. They love learning with their hands. They are full of enthusiasm. I want them to have many opportunities to live a successful life. For many, it starts in my classroom.
My Project
The vast majority of my students are living in poverty and will not get many things for Christmas this year. They do not have many books or schools supplies at home. I would like to give them the story Lola the Elf in December for Christmas. And a stocking with pencils, erasers and pencil sharpeners in it. Each of my students will decorate their own stocking with the felt stickers. We will then hang up them up around our classroom.
The day before Christmas break they will get to open their Christmas book and get a stocking filled with supplies to take home.
My students will then be able to start a home library and have school supplies available to them at their home.
