My students need guinea pig food and Frontline Plus to help maintain the classroom pets.
We are an inner-city magnet school in our district, with a medical theme. My students come from all over the city, from all different schools, cultures, and backgrounds. In spite of the many obstacles, my students achieve higher than all the neighboring high schools and have a 100% graduation rate and college acceptance rate.
Unfortunately, our school is located in a low income area with 100% of the students receiving free lunch.
More than three-quarters of our students are from low-income households.
Most of our students select careers in the medical field. Their access to resources needed to prepare them for this path is very limited. DonorsChoose.org makes it possible for our children to have the necessary tools to succeed.
My students are part of a Veterinarians in Training Program. They need small pet items for guinea pigs: bedding, timothy hay and treats. They need small dog items: crate and Frontline plus.
Our students are preparing to become veterinarians and they need supplies to house and feed pets.We have several Vets that come to our school and demonstrate how to execute wellness exams on guinea pigs, cats and dogs.
We have two classroom guinea pigs that assist in the learning process. We have several small dogs that we bring in on weekly basis, that are used to learn wellness exams. The Guinea pig bedding, hay and treats along with the small dog frontline plus and crate will help execute this project.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
