My students need a Surface laptop to facilitate creating a podcast.

We are an inner-city magnet school in our district, with a medical theme. My students come from all over the city, from all different schools, cultures, and backgrounds. In spite of the many obstacles, my students achieve higher than all the neighboring high schools and have a 100% graduation rate and college acceptance rate.
Unfortunately, our school is located in a low income area with 100% of the students receiving free lunch.
More than three-quarters of our students are from low-income households.
Most of our students select careers in the medical field. Their access to resources needed to prepare them for this path is very limited. DonorsChoose.org makes it possible for our children to have the necessary tools to succeed.
We are leading a group of students in this project that connects the community and our school while exposing students to valuable life experiences. We are leaders by example, demonstrating leadership, commitment, determination, and great technology skill sets.
Our students have the ability to communicate the projects' needs to all involved, the community, staff, students, and media.
The students sat with the leadership cohort and selected the items they needed most for community events. They are requesting a Surface laptop to document events through a podcast that will be posted on the group's web page and FB page.
"We want to podcast our experiences so that other communities and students may benefit from our same experiences. We want to demonstrate how neutering community pets keep down overpopulation, develop healthy lifestyles, keep down euthanasia rates, and decrease the number of homeless and abused animals. By sharing this project through social media others could model this group and help their community and pets to maintain healthy, happy families and environment. "
The Chowhounds distribute free pet food, free pet wellness exams, free neutering, and serve as a resource for all pet needs. The students will be able to share with other students throughout the country and community members information on pet care, how neutering a pet helps communities, and podcast students assisting a veterinarian in surgeries so many others can benefit from the experience.
All the skills involved with this project will prepare students for college and careers.
