My Students

I teach at a diverse urban public school in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. The students at my school are goofy, kind, curious, and eager to learn new things. Our school and neighborhood are extremely diverse both economically and racially.

My first grade students are not only exciting to be around, but they are also some of the most caring, hardworking, and curious first graders who bring their open-mindedness into the classroom each and every day!

As their teacher, I strive every day to motivate my students to achieve their highest potential through reading, writing, math, science, music, and exploration!

My Project

My students love love love to build and create new structures.

This project will bring three new choice time centers into our classroom and encourage sharing, team building, and other social emotional skills that come with center time!

We would love to add more Popoid-like tubes, new connect and build sticks, and puzzle sets to our classroom to continue building a love for creating! These items will vary our materials rotation and encourage students to try new centers too!
