My students need some unique materials to truly engage in their learning! This project is part of my effort to try to reach all of my different types of learners.
My 6th grade ELA and Social Studies class is full of heart, discovery, learning, growing, and loving! I have students from many different backgrounds, most of whom are receiving free and reduced lunch because of their financial situations. A majority of my students do not read on grade level, but this does not make them inferior. They thrive when given the opportunity to read texts that make sense to them and they give all of their effort to better themselves. I am hoping to enrich their lives and improve their learning one day at a time! I would not be in this profession if I didn't love and care for each face that I see every morning. Let's ensure that every child's future is bright!

My Project
As a teacher who has a room full of widely different students with unique personalities and differing learning styles, I am trying to create ways to allow all learners to be successful and engaged. This project includes art materials so that my assignments can become more creativity-based. Many learners, especially ELL students or Special Education students, struggle with writing. Giving different opportunities for art-based assignments should help these students communicate their answers. This could include cut and glue activities, creating comics and using printed visuals to guide answers. This project also includes educational games that tie together learning and fun!
All learners are unique and different and it is my job to provide ample opportunities to all of them!
The printer will be used to access engaging and unique assignments, handouts, visuals, worksheets, etc at our fingertips! It is so important that I am able to keep my students attention, especially my special education and ELL students. I have placed a few educational games and activities on my list. Specifically, Apples to Apples Junior will be a fun game to allow my students to play on Fun Fridays if they have earned it with their good choice tickets, while they practice vocabulary and social skills. The whiteboard markers will allow my students to each have a board and a marker as a way for me to formally assess them while they have fun sharing answers. The class set of markers brings creativity into the room and helps me allow for instruction differentiation.
