Help me give my students indoor recess toys! From marble races and board games to lincoln logs and plastic animals these activities will keep them busy using their imaginations during the winter days that we can't go outside!
Students at this school come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of these students have difficult home lives whether it is because they are low income, they have divorced parents or they are struggling with other problems in life. Each one of my students walk into the classroom each day with a different story. It is my job to make them feel comfortable and ready to learn in the classroom.
My students know that they are not just a classroom of random people, they know that in the classroom: WE ARE A FAMILY.
We all support one another and are there for each other no matter the situation.
These students are motivated to do their best. Each day I tell them to come in and show me what they know! We always high five at the end of the day because leaving on a positive note is the best way to say see you tomorrow!
My Project
As the cold weather is approaching and the weather will become snowy soon I knew I needed to get a variety of toys and activities for my active second graders. Recess inside is always more "boring" than going outside so I can't wait to have a variety of toys for them to use on those cold, snowy days.
Living in Upstate New York, our winters are long so I want my students to still have fun at recess time and use their imaginations!
I love that with the items I've selected that they will be able to use their imaginations to make their own fun. From lincoln logs to hopscotch to board games and plastic animals they will be able to play with friends and use their imaginations!
