My Project
Everyone's favorite time of the day is lunch time! These slow cookers are going to make chili prep a breeze! Throw in the ingredients, set it and forget it! Many times, we have lots of things growing in the garden that we can make soup with but we have to go outside and work in the garden and cannot be slaving over a stove. With these slow cookers, we will put everything in there, make sure it's seasoned, turn it on and let it cook! A few hours later and we will be ready to eat!
Teaching my students how to use this versatile kitchen appliance will help them when they become college students or go on their own after high school.
Learning real world skills like being able to feed themselves will go farther than learning a + b = c. These appliances will take my lessons full circle from seed planting to weeding beds to harvesting and finally preparing and eating! I see lots of chili and chicken soup in our future Fun Food Fridays! And it's getting colder (as cold as can be in Hawaii) and these hearty, warm dishes will fill our tummies and keep us energized to work another day!
