My Project

Each year at our school, students join the statewide celebration of children's literature by voting in children's choice book awards. After reading award-nominated books all year long, they join thousands of other students by voting for the the best picture book, nonfiction picture book, transitional chapter book, and middle grade fiction published in the previous couple years.

To vote for their favorites, our students need access to these award nominated books for the 2024-2025 school year!

These titles are the 2025 nominees for the Washington Children's Choice Picture Book Award, Towner Award for Nonfiction, Our Time To Enjoy Reading (OTTER) Award, and the Sasquatch Award for middle grade fiction. From a true story about a World War II duck, to stories about animal friendship and a Mars rover, these books showcase the best in local and national kid lit. They are like the Oscars in our school library, and I can't wait to see which titles resonate most with our students! Thanks for your help with getting these books into the library for student reading.
