My students are an inspiration each and every day for the excitement and energy they bring to the classroom. Although the children I work with are impacted by disabilities, they are defined by the things they CAN do, not the things they can't.
Teaching students with special needs is an experience like no other.

My Project
As a new teacher, I'm working on building a collection of books for my classroom library. The collection of books that I've selected included titles that celebrate the beauty of diversity. I want my students to have examples of literature that highlight the importance of appreciating the differences that make each of us special and unique.
Access to high quality literature can make a difference all the difference for students.
Books like "It's Ok to Be Different" and "The Sneetches" are exactly the types of books that engage and inspire young readers. Providing my students with this collection of books will make a difference in their development as readers!
