My students need children's books in French and 6 French/English dictionaries as they are new to learning the language. Studies show that by reading children's texts they're able to better acquire a second language

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Learning a foreign language can be challenging! However, with the right supports foreign languages can be accessible to all students.
I work in a low income neighborhood where students are generally below grade level in reading and writing.
Generally, the students I work with are disheartened when it comes to school as they have not had very many successful experiences. As such, I feel that it is extremely important to give all students opportunities to feel successful in my classroom.
My Project
In order to increase student engagement and comprehension in French, I am requesting a series of French children's books. By having silent reading in French each day, students will not only improve their French language knowledge, but will also improve their reading skills in English.
I appreciate your donation to my project, as I know how grateful my students will be at the new addition to our classroom!
By increasing student engagement, it is my goal to make lifelong learners!
