This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a "Related Arts" or "Special Area" classroom. It is the Art room where students create and learn about the world outside our school and their own self.

My school is one of 17 in a Title 1 school district.

We have a wide range of students whose creativity astounds me daily. They are inspired by the artist we student and the artist within our rooms. It is always a joy to introduce them to new artists, people whose work that have never seen.

My Project

Dale Chihuly is an artist known by many and whose work most of my students have never had the joy of seeing in person even with his work on display in our city. My students will be given the opportunity with these supplies to create a Chihuly inspired masterpiece. This will be done with recycled water bottles that we have been collecting for over a year. It is a school community project done with multiple grades and placed together.

With these supplies(paint, brushes, etc) my students will experience the thrill of creating a 3- dimensional piece of artwork, while working with many different grade levels and working with mediums they have not had much experience with.

This will inspire more creativity in my classes.
