My kiddos, students, are energetic two and three-year-olds from various backgrounds. They come to school with a great deal of energy and love along with the curiously to learn. Each child is enthralled with learning like a scientist. We recently voted on our class pets, and each and every child is enthralled with them. We ask questions which drives our learning, we make observations, predictions, and hypothesis about them and their habitats. Giving my students the opportunity to experience the life cycle in our classroom would be an amazing opportunity that they would otherwise not have.
My Project
With these materials my students will be able to see the life cycle by viewing the embryo to being able to know when each chick will hatch. The equipment allows for the students to have a successful hatching experience.
The excitement of growth and change will be a main focus for us as we learn through exploration, observation, and play.
Our lessons will not only be science in nature but also working on being empathetic youngsters by learning to care for another living thing.
Each day we will observe the eggs in the incubator, make observations, and eventually the materials will allow for a successful hatching experience for my students. They will learn about the process of life and how and what we need to do to ensure that our chicks grow to be healthy.
