Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Please Help out our Classroom

My Students

"The Future of the world is in my classroom today" (Ivan Welton Fitzwater). Each student has something special to offer the world and it is my privilege as a Kindergarten teacher to make sure they know this. Creating a positive and welcoming learning environment is my way of doing this.

My Kindergarten kiddos are energetic and eager to learn.

We are in an urban district with a high poverty level. Some of my students don't have any books at home or have never had anyone read to them. As a teacher, it is my privilege to instill in them a love for reading and a passion for becoming a better reader.

My Project

My project's main focus is to give my students beautiful displays of good fit books that appeal to their inner bookworm. My students love to grab a beanie baby buddy to read to, find a cozy spot in the book nook, and dive into a great book. By having good fit books, bright book bins where they can clearly see their reading level, and a book bag that is their very own, they have all the tools they need to become lifelong readers.

Donations to this project will make a huge difference in my classroom.

Students never remember the pencil they were given at the beginning of the year, but they do remember the brand new book bag just for them with their name written on it in big letters or the book that they read ten times because it reminded them of the great day they spent in the park with their dad and they felt confident reading it. This project will give students the tools they need to be successful.
