This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are the heart and soul of our classroom and their boundless curiosity and enthusiasm for learning inspire us every day. With each resource we're requesting, we aim to create a dynamic and engaging environment where our students can explore, discover, and thrive. Especially during our annual egg hatching!

The upgraded chicken brooder box will provide our students with a safe and comfortable space to observe the fascinating journey of chick development.

By witnessing firsthand the hatching process, our students learn about life cycles, animal care, and responsibility. They'll also develop empathy and compassion as they nurture and care for the chicks, fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.

A new heating plate is essential for maintaining the optimal temperature needed for the chicks' growth and well-being. With this resource, our students will gain an understanding of the importance of environmental conditions in supporting life. They'll also learn about thermoregulation and the role of heat in biological processes, laying the foundation for future scientific inquiry.

Introducing a small jungle gym for the chicks may seem whimsical, but it serves a crucial purpose in promoting physical activity and social interaction among the chicks. Our goal is to provide a stimulating environment where the chicks can engage in natural behaviors like perching, pecking, and exploring.

What makes our students special is their innate curiosity, creativity, and resilience. They approach each day with a sense of wonder and excitement, eager to explore and discover new things. By providing them with hands-on learning experiences like caring for chicks, we empower them to ask questions, make discoveries, and grow into confident and compassionate individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on the world.
