Chia Pudding is Delicious!

My Project

Our Fun Food Fridays are the highlight of our week here on the farm. We are going into banana season right now and the trees are producing so much right now. I asked the students what they wanted to do with all the bananas we have, instead of just eating them like monkeys and they said they wanted to have it in chia pudding. So we will be making chia pudding for all our classes and using whatever bananas we have, along with strawberries and blueberries from the freezer.

Chia pudding is not only delicious but healthy for everyone!

Learning about a new dish that is sweet and filling, but also high in protein, will help my students make better food choices for their future. I hope this lesson will help my students look for healthy choices when they are hungry, rather than automatically going for the cheesecake and ice creams for dessert. Being able to use the bananas we grow on the farm in another way than just eating them gives my students options for when they grow up and have to start making healthy meals for themselves and their families.
