Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I started a class economy with my third graders. My students work really hard and earn digital money that they can spend on various items I have stocked up on. Most of them save up to spend time with me during lunch and work on activities they purchase.

They are becoming financially literate by learning how to budget, save money, pay for rent and even pay fines for minor infractions lol.

They have jobs to earn the "cash" and can earn for so many other things. Some examples are: showing improvement in their work, completing extra credit assignments, acts of kindness and coming to school on time. It's motivating them and they are so excited for paydays/shopping days. Please help me keep this going. It's going a million times better than I had hoped.
