Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is comprised of amazing students from many different backgrounds. We qualify as a Title I school, with 70% of our students eligible for free or reduced lunch. My kids are inquisitive, hard working, creative and unique individuals that make each day a new adventure I'm excited to lead them on.
Hurricane Harvey hit our community hard last August, but despite such a traumatic experience at their young age, they come in eager and ready to learn each and every day.
Their resilience this year has been awe inspiring.
My Project
I have requested four Dell Chromebooks and a Brother color printer to provide my students with technology to help make their Science Fair research easier.
Most of my students do not have home computer or printer access and depend on me to help them research and create their projects - help me make their projects look professional and competitive by funding our Chromebooks and color printer!
I want my students to have equal footing when we take their projects to the district Science Fair. By giving them the proper technology to do their projects, my students will be successful and feel confident about their end product.
These materials will not only be used for our Science Fair, but will be used to support technology based lessons in the classroom and teach them proper research methods over a variety of topics and subjects. They will also be able to use their new Chromebooks to support reading and math skills by using iStation, Dreambox Math, and AR testing.
