Chess Books Needed for High School Chess Team

Help me give my students chess books on tactics and checkmate patterns for our school's chess team.

My Students

Our school is a hidden gem in our urban school district. We're an alternative public school that primarily serves at-risk-students by providing a caring, personalized environment in which students are allowed to work at their own pace. We use a solution-focused approach to helping our kids overcome whatever obstacles they face.

Our student have faced a wide variety of struggles that led them to our alternative school and they come from all walks of life, but every one of our students who graduate say that our school changed their life.

My Project

This projects aims to obtain a collection of chess books for our chess team. Most of our students are new to chess. They need workbooks for studying checkmate patters and tactics.

We're the only high school in our city (the capitol city of our state) that fields a chess team!

Pretty amazing, considering we're a public school that primarily serves at-risk students. We've played in local tournaments for years and the local chess community appreciates how our students help clean up at local tournaments and interact with the mostly younger kids.

We like to give students chess books for practice so they feel a sense of connection and ownership of their own learning. These books will help our chess team members develop a love of the game as well as make them more competitive players.
