Chemistry Tech and Animals to Dissect

My students need a Vernier LabQuest and probes in order to quickly collect data. My students in Zoology need animals to dissect.

My Students

Students come into my classroom each day excited to learn. My Chemistry students want to be challenged and to learn why elements and compounds behave the way that they do. My Zoology students are excited to learn about the amazing variety of animal life that is out there.

My students are engaged learners in a small school.

The majority of my students come from high poverty. They are hard working students that want to do their best. The school has high standards and expectations for them. We provide them with the support they need and because of this they excel.

My Project

My students in Chemistry will use this technology to quickly and accurately collect data. These probes will allow my students to collect data digitally, which will be a first for all of them. My students in Zoology will use these animals to dissect in order that they might get a better understanding of the complexity of life. I chose a wide variety of animals for them to dissect in order that they can also see first hand the differences and similarities between animals.

This project will allow my students to use technology for the first time in Chemistry and allow my students in Zoology to see for themselves the amazing variety of life.

Some of my students intend to go on to the medical field and this will provide them a glimpse of what that might look like.
