Chemistry of Life in the Ocean

My students need a marine aquarium set so they can get a better understanding of how we can change our marine environment in both a good or bad way. They will also see how we can change factors of climate.

My Students

Have you ever been to the ocean? Most of my students have never seen the marine life.

The Accelere Program offers opportunities for students 17 years of age and older, who are in need of additional flexibility or interested in extended day study for an accelerated approach to earning credits.

Students participate in intensive face-to-face classroom instruction in order to work toward completion of high school graduation requirements. Both required courses and elective courses are offered.

My Project

Most of my students have never left the middle of the United States. When we discuss ecosystems that are stable they can not understand the concepts of a food web or how factors can change life. I wish to show them how we can apply chemistry to demonstrate things such as climate change, acid rain, thermal pollution, and even how trace elements can affect life. Your donation will give my students a twenty gallon Marine aquarium set to explore the "ocean." I want to thank you for considering this project.

I want to move the students learning beyond the simple test, assignment, lab, or inquiry to application in their life experience.

Most of my students will never have the money to go to our world class zoo. I wish to deliver, with your help, the "ocean." Thank you.
