Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Science is everywhere." This is what I want my students to take from my chemistry class. I want them to see how relevant chemistry is to their daily lives.
My students are creative and talented, and they love to do hands-on activities.
They excel at activities that enable them to see everyday applications of science. They attend a small pilot school that has a very low enrollment, which means our resources are very limited.
My Project
I am requesting large-scale materials that will help them to successfully get through the next unit of their chemistry class. I am requesting an oven and lab demonstration kits so they can see and experience chemical reactions and thermodynamics. I am also requesting a whiteboard with easel so I can review chemistry concepts with smaller groups of students in my intervention class.
Since we are a pilot school, the district does not provide us with monetary resources as opposed to those of other schools.
As a school community, we need to look elsewhere for monetary resources. So please help me make a difference in the lives of my students by helping me buy supplies for my class that will create everlasting impressions of the relevance of chemistry!
