This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing humans!

One of the best attributes about my students is they are helpful to anyone in need.

They will see who needs help and reach out to them immediately.

They have had countless hard times fall on them but have persevered through them all. They welcomed me three months into the school year, and although it took time for them to warm up to me, I feel that they were so grateful to have a consistent teacher in their life. They've work harder than before.

My Project

Chemical Magic! My 5th grade class is going to "develop the concepts of “substances” and “chemical reactions.” Students see that chemical reactions enable us to make new materials by transforming the ones we have. The results of these reactions are interesting and sometimes profoundly useful." Along with our Mystery Science lesson, each pair of students will build and then "explode" the volcano they make.

Besides learning about chemical reactions during this project, the students will build onto the skills they already possess such as collaboration with a partner, communication skills and teamwork skills they can take into the real world.
