My students need Chromebooks to create and update electronic science journals throughout the school year.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Yoo's classroom raised $938
This project is fully funded
My Students
Learning Chemistry is much more effective (and fun) when students are learning from each other. I foster collaboration in my classroom by encouraging students to work with each other on problem solving and projects.
They like to discover patterns, make connections, help their classmates, and solve problems!
My students are in a selective enrollment school in an urban area--meaning they applied and were accepted to our school. Despite being a selective enrollment school, we still have a population with over 80% low income and minority students. Many of my wonderful students have overcome significant obstacles to get where they are today. My students are inquisitive, easy to work with, passionate, motivated, and like to be challenged.
My Project
This year, my chemistry students will be keeping electronic science journals using the Google Suite and will need Chromebooks to do so! At our school, students are not allowed to use their personal devices (cell phones and tablets) during school hours, so they need your donation to get these Chromebooks in our classroom. Using electronic science journals will allow students to keep their science notes organized and they can easily share and collaborate with their peers.
Students will find the Chromebooks especially beneficial when they are designing and performing lab experiments.
They can use the Chromebooks to create a shared group document, research chemistry concepts, organize data, and collaborate on the lab design and execution, data analysis, and conclusion. Additionally, my students will work on developing their technology skills and discovering and using the various tools in the Google Suite.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
