My Students

Our school is Title I where most, if not all, students receive financial assistance to help pay for their lunches. Imagine you are visiting our school. You are guaranteed to leave with a smile after a visit to our room, due to the heartwarming nature of 23 energized kindergarteners.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we aren't able to return to our classrooms for the rest of the school year.

My students are at home learning with school distributed iPads using available resources online. I post lessons and pre-recorded videos online. We communicate through comments on the lessons, online messages, and virtual video sessions.

My Project

The Handwriting Without Tears Teacher Guides will help educators teach writing systematically in a developmentally appropriate way for kindergarteners. All K teachers will receive one to be used for the 2020-2021 school year. It will be used to plan and implement lessons for many years to come!

It's important to teach handwriting because it helps develop fine motor and cognitive skills.

Handwriting also aids reading fluency because it activates visual perception of letters.

The kindergarteners will be able to learn handwriting without tears! Thank you for taking the time to support us.
