Cheerleaders with a BIG heart!

My students need cheerleading pom poms and hair bows to cheer our school's basketball team to victory.

My Students

Our students are in an inner-city school as well as a Title I school in Miami, Fl where 95% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. The majority of my students are faced with socio-economic challenges which hinder their self-esteem. Despite the hardships, our students come every day ready and excited to learn. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day. They are proud to be in school and want to show their school spirit.

They come in every day after school ready to practice routines and cheer their hearts out.

They give me 100% effort every single day and strive to do their best. There are days where I have to ask them to walk away from practice and tell them to go home because practice is over and they go against me stating they want to stay just 10 more minutes to practice which melts my heart. We all need that one person to believe in us. I believe in THEM!

My Project

By having cheer pom poms and hair bows the girls will truly feel like a TEAM. They are currently cheering on the school's basketball team but feel as though something's missing. Recently their self-confidence has dropped due to the lack of pom poms and hair bows.

Having cheer pom poms and hair bows will make the girls regain their self-confidence and believe in themselves.

I believe they are a special group of girls who want to inspire others. Now they just need to believe in themselves. These pom poms and hair bows will definitely be a great confidence booster to the girls.
