This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is located in a high poverty and crime area. Some of my cheerleaders are the parent in their homes. Some come to school without the necessary skills to work with others. They learn how to lead, collaborate and plan with others. They learn how to respect authority and each other in a challenging, but fun way. They grow in positive ways as they learn motions, routines, and stunts. The girls really love cheer and know they must have good grades and behavior to stay a cheerleader! Let’s go!

My Project

Many of the cheer parents are not able to purchase the necessary gear that the cheerleaders need for cheer. We also struggle to get the necessary funding through school fundraisers and community donations. Donations to my project will help the cheerleaders have appropriate shoes for cheer performances. The cheerleaders will have shoes to help with flexibility, balance, and support during jumps, stunts and routines. The cheer shoes will also add to the total look of the uniforms during performances. Your donations will help the cheerleaders become better on the skill level and have an overall uniform look as a team.
