Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As the Cheer Coach for our Middle School, we are the only sport in the school that is required to purchase everything we need to cheer. We have an amazing group of cheerleaders. With all the hard work and dedication that the athletes put in, I want to help with some of the expenses that come with being a cheerleader. There are certain requirements that the girls must follow, such as uniforms, hair tied back, and white socks. We get extra points during the competition for uniqueness. The goal for my project is to help provide some of the items that the athletes need during cheer seasons, but also provide a more variety of uniform shorts and pom poms. The mat will help with fitness to help the ladies improve on their tumbling, which also gets extra points.

We compete in several competitions every year and place in the Top 5!

Cheerleading is a very expensive sport, even at the middle school level. These items will help each family financially to alleviate some of the costs that come with cheering.

The cheerleaders work hard and practice for hours each day. We even hold practices on the weekends and in the summer. These items will be able to be distributed to each athlete and have some extras in case they need more.
