This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school that resides in the Miami-Dade County Public School District and has a strong sense of community. Our students have grown together over the years and have made lasting friendships. Cypress has expanded to a K-8 Center which allowed our cheerleading squad to expand. Our cheer team has doubled in members over the last year and is a prime example of students coming together for the purpose of demonstrating school spirit. We believe all students are capable of participating in extra-curricular activities and we motivate students to be engaged and be the best they can be.

My Project

Our team is eager and growing. We want to take a step toward our goal of competing in local cheerleading competitions. Our squad is dedicated toward learning more about stunting, tumbling, and cheering at a new competitive level. Our girls are motivated and put maximum effort into every practice.

By receiving donations to support this project, we will be able to have our cheerleaders challenge their abilities while staying safe.

Due to the increase of team members on our squad, we are seeking assistance in obtaining more cheer mats. Our students will be able to participate in stunting, tumbling, and cheering, which with our limited amount of mats, would limit our performances abilities. Safety plays a huge role in our practices and these mats would aid us in preventing our cheerleaders from getting seriously injured.

By obtaining these mats our practices will be more rigorous and challenging while maintaining a safe environment for all our team. We would greatly appreciate it if you would fund this project to assist us in getting our squad the practice set-up that they deserve.
