This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Cheer on our GVA Cheerleaders! Cheerleaders serve as an integral part of our middle school community. Cheerleaders provide support for our athletics, school and community. Cheer is a competitive sport that fosters team building, confidence, leadership, and skill development - skills that will significantly improve the lives of every single team member. This year, our school experienced many hardships that forced massive budget cuts across the board. After experiencing a fire in one of our buildings, students and teachers were displaced and the athletic budget cut so much it prevented our team from buying team uniforms.

Please help support our team with basic cheer accessories, since we cannot afford uniforms due to massive budget cuts.

This team is something special - despite the hardships of this school year, they continue to show up, work hard and do so with smiles on their faces. The Global Village community is a traditionally under-served and underrepresented community, and cheer will provide this team with an opportunity to succeed not only in athletics, but in life!

The poms, bows and backpacks included in this proposal will help build the confidence of our team. Currently we are cheering in used soccer jerseys, and these basic cheer accessories will help build a foundation of positive, self-confidence for those that work to support the GVA community. Please help support those that support our community!
