This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The chess sets and clocks I am requesting will primarily be used during club days (Fridays). Those are the usual chess sets used in school tournaments. The chess clocks will seem like my students are in a tournament-like setup. It will give my students a glimpse of real chess tournaments.

With these chess boards and clocks, my students will be able to learn this critical-thinking board game!

Our students are mostly engaged in physical sports. Learning a mind game like chess or improving on it definitely will add up to how they can improve in those physical sports. Planning ahead, making the right decisions, and making good use of your time are just some of the life skills that students can improve on while playing chess.
