My Project

To provide a Chess Club at our Title I school. Recognizing patterns is important. Recalling moves from similar situations is key. Planning ahead is crucial. Learning these capabilities is fundamental if you want to create a productive life for yourself. With the guidance of our staff, teaching success in chess can be paralleled to teaching success in life.

We would like to set up an after-school club where our older students can learn life skills via the game of chess.

Chess promotes critical thinking, short and long-term planning, problem-solving, and decision-making. The game also requires thoughtful and decisive moves for an intended outcome.
