This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Give my students the opportunity to get up-close and personal with our unofficial school mascots— red-tailed hawks. We have a pair that had built a nest in the bell tower at our school and successfully raised a chick. This caught the interest of many students and the binoculars I brought in are just not cutting it. Students want the opportunity to keep and eye on our raptor family up-close by watching them through a birding scope. I hope by providing this opportunity students will take an interest in the natural habitat around us and increase their respect for it.
