My Students
Help! My classroom library is sitting in boxes and our books need to be accessible to my students to read. I need a way to display new books and intrigue hesitant readers.
Our school promotes a "Kids First" attitude and every decision that is made is based on how it will impact our students.
My students are an amazing group of children who are reading for the first time and enjoy reading a good book. My classroom has 34 to 38 students at a time and they are all reading at the same time. Having this many students requires having a lot of books. I have spent many years collecting and finding books, but I have no place to store or display them. I need a bookcase so my students have access to more books when they are reading.
My Project
A bookcase is a crucial item needed to teach first grade students, but sadly it is one that classroom teachers must provide themselves. Please help me help my students! A bookcase would give my students a place to go to read more books.
I understand that many teachers have needs, and I appreciate any generosity that is shown. I feel this teaching tool would make a REAL difference in the learning of my first grade students
My class is very eager to learn and they all want to become better readers.
I am very fortunate to have students who want to read and who want to feel accomplished. As an educator I want them to have every opportunity to feel successful in the classroom and I want them to have all the right skills to be able to read a good book on their own.
