Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For several years we have been studying the game of chess in our classroom with the support of a volunteer chess coach who moonlights as a professor at Stanford. Over time pieces have become lost and broken and it has become harder to find full sets. Supporting this project will give access to 25 new students next year as they learn the skills of this amazing game! Chess helps the students develop logic and mathematical reasoning, problem solving and good sportsmanship. I hope you’ll be able to support this project!
