Chase Covid Blues Away With at Home Juggling

Help me give my students juggling balls for PE. This projects funds 55 sets of 3 juggling balls to be used by 3 different classes during at home PE.

My Students

I teach 3rst grade at a K-8 elementary school. We are an option school, which means our school draws from a wider boundary within our city. Our school teaches a curriculum that includes learning about Native American history and culture. Thirty three percent of the students at our school identify as Native American. Additionally, twenty five percent of the students at our school are identified as English Language Learners and twenty five percent have an individual education plan.

These past three years I have led a juggling club at our school.

It was very popular club and kids across all grade levels would sign up. There was no cost to participate and I found students were surprised and delighted by how quickly they could pick up juggling and start mastering tricks.

My Project

Due to COVID, our students are stuck at home a lot. This project is going to fund PE equipment for at home juggling for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Currently our students have PE at home once a week for 45 minutes. We would use these juggling balls for activities like bowling, in home basketball, hacky sack, knocking over objects, balancing; and yes of course, juggling. In our current PE classes we ask students to be creative with plastic cups and balled up paper for activities. I know they would appreciate having high quality, colorful juggling balls to use for many fun, movement filled games. This funds 55 sets of 3 balls.
