Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have been so resilient and understanding during these unprecedented times. They have learned to adapt their learning to online learning, and to work more independently. It is a challenge to help every student when you are not physically sitting there with them, and when I don't have all the materials, I would normally have available to me in the classroom.
My Project
These simple materials are needed so that I do both live and recorded lessons in reading, grammar, and mathematical computation. Students have been used to me charting from math warm-ups, and how to draw inferences. I don't have chart paper, or markers at home to produce anchor charts that are needed for students to refer to. These materials are needed to provide a sense of normalcy to my students so that during our Zoom sessions, we can temporarily turn my living room into a learning environment for them that they can learn from and provide comfort.
