Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

As a fifth grade teacher in the New York City Public School System, I have seen many curricula used to enhance the learning of my students. However, one constant that remains a vital part of education is each student's self-confidence. In order to foster a positive learning environment, I hope to use chart paper, markers and an easel to display my student's responses to independent, small group and whole-group discussions. The charts enable the children to take ownership of their work and display published responses for future reference. This allows them to be proud of their accomplishments and motivates further learning.
