My Students

We are a Title I school. A Title I school is a school receiving federal funds. The basic principle of Title I is that schools with large concentrations of low-income students will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting student's educational goals.

Our school house PreK -8th grade.

Having different grade levels, allows the older students to become role models for the entire school body. At the same time, they can be themselves as they begin their transition from childhood to adulthood.

Our students are at a disadvantage and are playing catch up when it compares to other school districts.

My Project

We have many learning styles in my classroom. So many are visual learners. Visual learners learn best when they can see the material being taught.

Our Special Ed students need to see charts, graphs and diagrams to help them focus.

Visual learners typically prefer images, maps, graphs and other visual representations to other forms of instruction to grasp their attention.

These charts are large enough so that students can see them wherever they are seating in the classroom. The charts will also help our ESL students who need visuals. The markers will allow us to highlight the most important details.
