Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are very loving and caring individuals. My students are very talented 25 young individuals who come from a low socioeconomic section in Florida. I have ESE, ESOL and autistic immigrant students. My students come to school filled with eager to learn and be the best they can be.

My students face many challenges inside school to succeed and do their best, and they struggle outside of school to not allow the environment that they live in to stop them from achieving their dreams.

My Project

Hurricanes have caused my students and their families to suffer damage on their homes and lives. Since Maria, we are starting to see an increase of students to our area that evacuated Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated their homes. My students need iPod Touch, and a charge cart to remain successful in technology.

These supplies will provide my students with useful, effective, and efficient ways to remain on task inside my classroom and help them feel welcome.

Because of the donations, we now have 15 laptops/Chromebooks in our classroom; however, we need a way to properly store the laptops. We chose a Chromebook cart that allows room for added technology growth in the years to come.

The Chromebook cart would provide a safe location for all classroom Chromebooks to be charged and stored.

My students are desperately needing a storage solution for our Chromebooks. We are currently storing them in plastic tubs all together and they are not very durable. I’ve replaced these plastic tubs a few times because they continue to break down. Having these storage carts will allow each Chromebook to have its own drawer and we can also utilize some of the drawers to store the chargers. The iPod touch will be used during small group for the students to learn English.

There are educational apps for my students to go into and learn English and have fun.
