Charging Up With Fire!

My students need four Amazon Fire tablets and two charging stations to enhance the use of technology and learning in the classroom and keep them charged at all times.

My Students

I teach in a low-income school district, the students that are in my class face numerous are challenges in and out of the classroom. I am trying to guide these students in the right direction, both with social and learning experiences with the hope they will build upon their for years to come.

My students are eager and willing to learn.

They enjoy sharing their own experiences, they enjoy reading and writing stories and they love researching new information. Many of my students do not have "prior knowledge" of basic skills or experiences, but that does not prevent them from learning and growing during the school year.

My Project

We use devices on a daily basis in my classroom. Having the set of Amazon Fire Tablets will allow each student the opportunity to use technology in my classroom. The charging stations will help to keep all the tablets charged at the same time so they will always be ready to use. They will be used during our Daily 5 time to listen to reading on RAZ Kids or Newsela. The students can look up current events and read about them on their reading level. Another way they will be used is for research during Social Studies. They will be able to complete projects on China, Egypt and Mesopotamia.

This project will make a difference because it will give each student the same opportunities to learn.

The students all do not have devices and these devices in my classroom will help to close that gap of learning through technology.
