Help me give my students replacement Chromebook chargers for ones that are broken and lost (and for new kids)!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Eib's classroom raised $543

My Project
We are fortunate to have Chromebooks for all of our students. They use them daily to write essays, research history, complete virtual science labs, and compete in online educational games (my 9th graders are very competitive and love vying for the top 3 spots using online quiz games on their Chromebooks). As a teacher and the school technology coordinator, I see how useful technology is in the classroom and how difficult it is to keep everything in working order for 504 students and 45 teachers. Our district has good systems in place for repairing and replacing Chromebooks. As a school, we have to budget for repairing and replacing chargers. As anyone with a phone or computer charger knows, they wear out, and some of ours have been in use for 7 years now.
We have a number of students who are homeless or in foster care and the chargers get lost or broken easily when you are moving between shelters or group homes.
With a transient student population, daily new enrollments, and regular wear and tear, we need to replace chargers each week. With these chargers, students will be able to consistently use and charge their Chromebooks at home and at school so they can complete their assignments. Right now we have many students sharing a charger with a sibling or friend, so not everyone has a charged device every day. Some students have to wait for an available charger during class and complete an alternate assignment on paper. Students with learning differences are especially impacted when they can't use read-aloud software, spell check, etc. Having replacement chargers allows all students access to online textbooks, classroom assignments, and online resources all the time in and out of school.
