The students who take my engineering and robotics classes are apart of a large, urban school and come from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. However, these pieces of their identities do not define them.
The students who take my classes are curious, creative, and in general, they are thinkers.
They come in every day willing to learn and be challenged. They are future engineers and scientists, and I want to help start them off on the right foot.
My Project
Having technology is a vital part of learning but, sometimes technology can also be a distraction in the classroom. My students carry their electronic devices with them at all times and are dependent on them for a variety of things like being able to communicate with their families, after school sports, part time jobs, and online classrooms.
I want to provide my students with the opportunity to charge their phones as an incentive for limiting distractions as they focus on learning.
Having the ability for my students to unplug as their phones and other devices charge up, will allow them to be focused on learning and allow their devices to be ready for use later in the day.
