My students are students with special needs; however, they are just like everyone else. When we try to get supplies from the library we usually get the old, outdated materials. Lately they have gotten materials that have not been fixed or are not going to be fixed. My students use technology to assist them in their assignments, lessons, instruction and they feel accomplished!
My students are 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
We have a hard time grasping some basic information, but when we finally grasp it, it brightens everyone's day. My students have to do a lot of extra things in order to receive a high school diploma. In addition to their core courses, they also have to take occupational courses. They are responsible for having to learn job skills in school and off campus. They have accumulated a number of community-based hours of employment before graduation. My students love to help each other out, and they like to feel successful. When someone in the classroom grasps a concept, it is like a huge celebration. Technology has helped my students grow and learn functional skills that would be difficult to achieve otherwise.
My Project
Our building is old and we are limited on the number of plugs in our classroom. We have invested so far in 6 Chromebooks through the support of DonorsChoose. We would like to keep our Chromebooks charged, ready to go and safe for everyone's use.

Our students will learn the responsibility of charging their Chromebooks because we have one class right after another and if the Chromebooks are left out and not charged, the next class will not be able to complete their lesson.
We want to get more Chromebooks in the future, but for what we have right now we want to keep them charged and safely locked up when not in use!
